We would like to welcome National Charity League to the Seven Loaves team! This summer NCL started volunteering with us by helping with our Thursday morning delivery and holding chapter wide food drives. Now, they also pick up food at Harris Teeter every Monday morning.
National Charity League is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster mother-daughter relationships in a philanthropic organization committed to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences. The local Loudoun County chapter, Virginia Orchard, was formed in 2015 and currently has over 190 mothers and daughters volunteering and serving throughout the community. Each mother and daughter in their “class,” grades 7 through 12, support their local chapter through specific assigned job duties. They hold their own monthly class meetings, fostering responsibility, confidence, and leadership.
The Loudoun Chapter currently supports almost 20 philanthropies including Seven Loaves, Mobile Hope, American Cancer Society, Share House, Dulles South Food Pantry, Ashby Ponds Retirement Community, Nalani House Recovery, Ashburn Fire Department, Special Olympics, and Wreaths Across America. The mothers and daughters are each required to complete between ten and fifteen volunteer hours per year.
